Celosia

Celosia is a heat-loving annual that thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. To grow healthy plants, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost or sow directly outdoors once the soil warms. Celosia prefers moderately fertile, loamy soil with good drainage to prevent root rot. Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but avoid waterlogging. These plants are relatively low maintenance but benefit from occasional deadheading to encourage prolonged blooming. Fertilize monthly with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer to support vibrant flower production. Celosia is sensitive to cold and frost, so plant outdoors only after danger of frost has passed. While generally pest-resistant, watch for aphids and treat promptly if infestations occur. In hot climates, mulching helps retain soil moisture and keep roots cool. With proper care, Celosia will provide colorful blooms from early summer through fall, adding texture and interest to garden beds and containers.
