Complete Care Guide

# Cleveland Sage Care Guide Cleveland Sage is a native California shrub with one of the most intensely fragrant foliages of any plant — a rich, complex sage scent that perfumes the garden. Blue-purple flower whorls appear in late spring. ## Planting Plant in fall in full sun with excellent drainage. Avoid clay soils or summer irrigation. Space 4–5 feet apart. ## Watering Water deeply every 2–3 weeks for the first summer. Once established, do not water in summer. ## Pruning Prune by one-third after flowering to maintain a compact shape. Avoid cutting into old wood. ## Fragrance Brush the foliage to release the intense fragrance. Plant near walkways or seating areas.
