# Gulf Muhly Grass Care Guide Gulf Muhly is a native ornamental grass celebrated for its spectacular fall display of airy pink-purple plumes. It is tough, drought tolerant, and virtually maintenance-free. ## Planting Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Tolerates poor, sandy, or rocky soils. Space 3 feet apart. ## Watering Water weekly for the first season. Once established, rainfall is usually sufficient. Very drought tolerant. ## Cut Back Cut back to 4–6 inches in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. ## Division Divide every 3–4 years in spring to maintain vigor.
