Complete Care Guide

# Salvia greggii Care Guide Autumn Sage is one of the best perennials for hot, dry climates. It blooms from spring through frost in a range of colors and is a top plant for attracting hummingbirds. ## Planting Plant in full sun with well-drained, lean soil. Avoid rich or moist soils. Space 18–24 inches apart. ## Watering Water weekly for the first season. Once established, very drought tolerant — water only during extended droughts. ## Pruning Shear back by one-third after each bloom flush to encourage continuous flowering. ## Winter Cut back to 6 inches in late winter. In zones 6–7, mulch heavily to protect roots.
