Complete Care Guide

# Turk's Cap Care Guide Turk's Cap is a tough native Texas perennial that thrives in conditions most plants cannot tolerate — shade, heat, drought, and poor soil. The unique twisted red flowers bloom continuously from summer through frost. ## Planting Plant in part shade to full sun. Tolerates deep shade but blooms best with morning sun. Excellent under trees. ## Watering Water weekly for the first season. Once established, very drought tolerant. Tolerates occasional flooding. ## Pruning Cut back to the ground in late winter. It will return vigorously in spring. ## Spreading Turk's Cap spreads by root suckers and self-seeding. Remove unwanted seedlings as needed.
